For generations, God has been at work on Fort Myers Beach through His people. What began as a Baptist mission in the 1950s grew into Beach Baptist Church, a church known for loving its neighbors, serving those in need, and faithfully proclaiming the Gospel.
When Hurricane Ian devastated the island in 2022, the church building was destroyed, but the mission of serving people continued. In the midst of tremendous loss, Beach Baptist became a place of practical help, providing food, meals, resources, and hope to a community in need.
Today, that story continues in a new chapter.
Mangrove Community Church carries forward the legacy of a church that has faithfully served Fort Myers Beach while embracing a renewed vision for the future. We believe in discipling the church through four core principles found in Acts 2:42: Teaching, Prayer, Fellowship, and Sharing meals together.
The building may change, the name may change, and seasons may change—but Jesus remains the same.
We believe God is doing something new on Fort Myers Beach, and we are grateful to be part of what He is building.
What We Believe
God
There is one God who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator, sustainer, and sovereign Lord of all things.
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully man. He came to save us from sin, died on the cross, rose from the dead, and reigns as our Savior and Lord. He is the way, the truth, and the life.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is God’s presence and power at work in the world today. He reveals truth, comforts, equips, and empowers believers to live for Christ.
The Gospel & Salvation
The Gospel is the good news that God, in His love, sent Jesus to live, die, and rise again so that we can be forgiven and reconciled to Him. Salvation is a gift of grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ.
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, trustworthy, and authoritative Word of God. It guides us in truth, teaches us how to live, and points us to Jesus.
Humanity
Every person is created in the image of God and made to glorify Him. Yet all people are affected by sin and are in need of the redemption found through Jesus Christ.
The Church
The Church is the people of God, with Jesus Christ as its head. Together, we worship, grow as disciples, love one another, serve our community, and share the Gospel with the world.
